Our specialties

With two large modern theatres and supporting services, our Day Surgery improves access for patients in the region who require orthopaedic surgical procedures.

Find out more about our specialties below.

Anaesthesia

Anaesthesia has traditionally meant the condition of having sensation (including the feeling of pain) blocked or temporarily taken away. This enables our specialists to perform medical procedures painlessly for people in our care.

At Royston Day Surgery, our Consultant Anaesthetists provide services including sedation through to full anaesthesia during operations. They also provide comprehensive forms of pain relief that are specific to the procedure being performed and to each patient.

Orthopaedics

Orthopaedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system which includes bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves.

At Royston Day Surgery, we work with multidisciplinary teams made up of orthopaedic surgeons, specialist nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists to deliver health care solutions for people in our care across the areas of:

  • ACL reconstruction surgery
  • Arthroscopic knee and ankle surgery
  • Shoulder surgeries – rotator cuff, subacromial decompression
  • Carpal tunnel
  • Metalware removal
  • Dupuytrens
  • Trigger finger
  • Morton’s neuroma surgery
  • Ankle tendon and ligament surgery
  • Bunion surgery – this may require overnight stay at Royston Hospital
